Joris Skudra, Lithuanian documentary director, smelling a yellow rose by a stone wall — Here he is, taking a photo for his grandma.

Joris Skudra is a Lithuanian director and camera operator living between Lithuania and Spain. Joris is drawn to people and stories that are strange, yet somewhat magical and really inspiring. He likes giggling a lot, so his films have a solid dose of that.

His first feature was presented at the Warsaw Film Festival 2025 (in competition). His second, sports documentary Chasing Glory, co-directed with EuroLeague, is having theatrical releases in Spain, France and Germany as we speak and has just won the Audience Award at the Liberec Sports Film Festival.

Joris is drawn to investigative journalism and has directed short-form documentary stories for Bloomberg Originals, Great Big Story and Atlas Obscura. He is currently developing a hybrid feature film about a monk who loves ice cream.
